Need to replace the telescopic handle on your Monos suitcase? Follow these simple steps, and you’ll have it swapped out in just a few minutes:

Prepare your suitcase
Open your suitcase and lay it flat for easy access. -
Access the interior of your suitcase
Open your suitcase and detach the compression pad by removing the straps from their hooks. -
Remove the compression straps
Unscrew the screws securing the four compression straps and set them aside. -
Unzip the lining
Carefully unzip the interior lining to expose the handle mechanism. -
Detach the top handle bracket
Unscrew the three screws securing the top handle bracket. Slide the bracket toward the bottom of the case and remove it. -
Remove the telescopic tubes
Gently pull each telescopic tube upward until it releases from the bottom bracket, then carefully remove the entire handle assembly -
Install the replacement handle
Take your Monos replacement handle and disregard the bottom bracket piece that comes with it. Insert the new handle into the suitcase. -
Secure the new handle
Attach the ends of the telescopic tubes to the bottom bracket and slide the top handle bracket into place on the tubes. Press the tubes and bezel securely into position. -
Reattach the top handle bracket
Use the three screws you set aside earlier to secure the top handle bracket. -
Close the lining
Zip the interior lining back into place. -
Reattach the compression straps
Screw the four compression straps back into place using the original screws. -
Replace the compression pad
Reattach the compression pad by looping the straps back into the pad’s hooks.
And that’s it—your suitcase is ready to go!
