The Kiyo UVC Water Bottle is designed to neutralize up to 99.9% of E. coli bacteria on average when used at the full cleaning cycle. However, it has only been tested for E. coli and may not be effective against other bacteria, viruses, or contaminants found in untreated water sources.
Since the Kiyo UVC Water Bottle does not filter out heavy metals, chemicals, or other pollutants, we do not recommend using it with tap water while travelling unless it has been pre-filtered. For the best results, use it with filtered or bottled water to maintain safety.
